waste water treatment

PCA has provided a new and comprehensive waste water treatment for the AluK plant located in Chepstow (Wales). The new water treatment plant was necessary because of the addition of a lacquering line with chemical pre-treatment within the company. The result is a fully automated and sustainable waste water treatment plant which is capable of purifying 9m3/h of waste water

The extrusion of aluminium requires regular cleaning of the dies. Cleaning of the dies involves two steps. First, the dies are immersed in a heated solution of NaOH for a certain period of time. During this process, the aluminum that is present will dissolve and thus the die is cleaned.

At AGC’s facility in Seneffe it was important to have demineralised water available at a consistent quality. In the past, the demineralised water was produced with a duplex ion-exchanger.

For the construction of their new pre-treatment line (vertical SAT tunnel + immersion booths) a considerable flow rate of demineralised water was required as well as a large wastewater treatment. Both challenges were entirely in-house developed, produced and delivered by PCA.

When building a new line for the chemical pre-treatment and powder coating of aluminium profiles, the company Wilms (Meerhout) chose PCA to handle its water management. The objective was to eliminate any waste water.

PCA developped 8 mobile pilot installations. With these pilote installations Vlakwa can offer small & medium companies and the agri- & horticultural sector a temporary watertreatment installation. Vlakwa can research with these installations how to diminish the water consumption and respect the environmental directions.
